John L. Lumpkins Jr., PLLC focuses on finding cost-effective solutions for clients’ legal challenges. The firm’s purposes are to serve clients ethically, and provide excellent legal services at reasonable rates to individuals and small businesses throughout Virginia.
John Lumpkins is the firm’s principal. He has been a Virginia lawyer since 1988, and has operated John L. Lumpkins Jr., PLLC since 2010. Kendra Lumpkins has been with the firm since 2015. She is a legal assistant and wears several hats, including working closely with our clients on estate administration and real estate matters.
For individuals I focus my services on probate, estate and trust administration, fiduciary-related matters, wills and trusts, estate and general tax planning, asset protection; real estate sales transactions, and other real estate matters including partition suits, the sale of property of an incapacitated owner, boundary line disputes, easements, and deeds in lieu of foreclosure; and other financial distress planning and workouts. Starting in early 2018, residential real estate settlement (purchase) services will be made available through a partnership with a title agency that will operate in a nearby office.
I am also qualified to serve as a guardian ad litem for incapacitated adults.
Serving Small Businesses
For small business owners I serve clients with choice of entity decisions, business formation, negotiating and drafting multiple-member operating agreements, shareholder agreements, buy-sell agreement, real estate acquisition, business sale, contract or lease review, contract disputes, significant collection matters, alternative dispute resolution (mediation, arbitration), asset protection, and distress planning (loan workouts). I also provide outside “in-house” general counsel for smaller businesses not ready to hire full time inside counsel.
My firm represents clients in matters throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia including in the cities of Richmond and Charlottesville, and in the Central Virginia counties of Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, Chesterfield, Powhatan, Louisa, and Albemarle.
